European Structural Investment Fund (ESIF) Investment Priority Axis 6: Preserving and Protecting the Environment and Promoting Resource Efficiency
The team has been successful in being awarded funding from the European Regional Development Fund with the Solihull Habitat and Nature Improvements Project.
This project will deliver a programme of woodland, grassland, wetland, watercourse and water quality improvements across publically accessible green space within urban areas of Solihull, increasing and strengthening the capacity of the natural environment to deliver ecosystem services across the region.
The priority focus will be on the River Cole and its tributaries in north Solihull, which in turn link into the wider green-blue infrastructure network, delivering a improved access for local communities.
The project will result in attaining better conservation status for 122.5 hectares over the three-year programme of infrastructure and habitat improvements and is worth £1.9million.
