Public realm can include any publicly owned streets, pathways, right of ways, parks, publicly accessible open spaces and any public and civic building and facilities.
The team’s Landscape Architects and Urban Designers have an integrated approach to assessing sites in terms of appearance, use and often multi-functional needs. Involvement with stakeholders across the Council and the public enable the design process to develop creative, functional and attractive schemes which enable appropriate to the surroundings.
The team supported our Transport and Highway colleagues in the design and implementation of a number of public realm projects in Solihull, including Solihull Gateway, Hurst Lane Place, and Red Lion Square. We have worked to produce town centre masterplans for Solihull and Shirley, and developed materials palettes.
