Green Infrastructure and ecosystem services

Green Infrastructure (GI) comprises existing and proposed networks of multi-functional open spaces and other environmental features.

GI is now an expected element of many projects as part of the planning and evolution of design proposals and as a feature of management plans. GI needs to be assessed, designed and managed as a resource to provide for a wide range of environmental, recreational, amenity and drainage functions.

As a multi-disciplinary team we have been delivering GI as part of our projects for many years, and can advise on existing features which together with proposed elements combine as part of GI.

The team is leading a number of projects identified within the Natural Capital Road Map within the Council’s adopted Green Prospectus, which is tasked with delivering a low carbon Solihull.
