The Health and wellbeing board
Health and Wellbeing Boards (HWBBs) were introduced as part of the Health and Social Care Act 2012, as the forum through which Councils now deliver their duties to improve the strategic coordination across the local NHS, social care, children’s services and public health.
Solihull HWBB started operating fully on 1st April 2013 when it became responsible for a number of statutory functions as required by law. Prior to this date the Board had been meeting formally in shadow form since April 2011. The Board is where key leaders from the health and care system work together to improve the health and wellbeing of the local population and to reduce health inequalities across the Borough.
