Engage Sparkle Up Fundraiser Day for OVOS

9th October 2018

Thank You for “Sparkling Up” this year.

Thank you to all staff who “Sparkled Up” or made a donation on the 19th September 2018.

We have raised an amazing £850 for our children in care and care leavers. This money will go towards trips and activities that OVOS will choose.

Our OVOS young people have chosen the winner for this year:

Dom Ferro from the 0-25 SEND Team

The winner of the ‘Best Sparkly team Award’ goes to

Nazima Kiyani & Gunnella Davidson from Childrens Services

Both winners will receive a gift and a certificate for being the best “Sparkled Up”

Since 2016 ‘Sparkle up’ day has raised £1814.72 with money going towards the following activities:

 Seaside trips in 2017 & 2018 – Weston Supermare & Blackpool.
 Tobogganing
 Archery
 Rock Climbing
 Pantomime 2017 & 2018
 Drayton Manor

Nick Page’s Pledge
‘Sparkle up’ day 2017 saw Nick Page follow up on his pledge made the previous year.
Nick pledged to raise funds through taking part in a number of physical challenges all across the borough.

Firstly, Nick pulled a fire truck through Solihull town centre with colleagues from both the council and other services across the region such as Birmingham Mental Health Foundation Trust, who also donated £200 to OVOS.

Following this, Nick completed six physical activities throughout the week and raised over £2000 for OVOS.

Challenges completed:
 Fire truck pull – Approx. £1500
 Nordic Walking – £99
 Bollywood Dancing – £93.40
 Two cycle rides – £112.50
 Volunteer Walk – £203.19

Remember there is still time to pledge your support to our children and young people. If you feel that as an individual or a team you can offer some kind of support for OVOS young people, then please get in touch and we can send you a pledge card.
