NEWSLETTER 15

Dear Parents/Carers

I hope that you have all survived the recent unseasonable cold weather that we have been recently experiencing – with the forthcoming Bank Holiday weekend I’m hoping that recent tradition may be reversed and we can enjoy some much needed sunshine!

Everyone is working really hard in school especially Year 2 and Year 6 who will be taking their SATs test in the near future – we wish them well in their final preparations for these important tests and are confident that they will do their best. We should always be reminded that these tests only assess a small part of our children’s development and that the many talents and gifts which they have in Art, Music, Sport etc should also be of equal importance and be celebrated.

Mrs Kidson, our Child and Family Support Worker, will begin her maternity leave in the very near future – we wish her and her husband all the best and look forward to hearing their exciting news! Mrs Powell is Mrs Kidson’s replacement – please make an appointment with her if you wish to make use of the many and various services that are on offer.

We have recently appointed two sports apprentices and welcomed one of them, Mr Adderley, to our team last week. We are really looking forward to working with him and hope that he will find this opportunity of working in our school a fruitful one.

Several Year 2 children will be going on a residential outdoor adventure this weekend – I wish them a great time and am very grateful to the staff for their time in helping this new experience for our children take place.

As I said at the beginning of this letter, it is a Bank Holiday weekend. School will be closed on Monday 7th May and will re-open on Tuesday 8th May at 8.45am. We look forward to seeing you then.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Best wishes
